What the WBEC is All About
The Worth Bremen Enterprize Commission (WBEC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of free enterprise in the Worth and Bremen Township area of Northern Illinois. A membership organization, the WBEC is governed by a board of directors elected by the membership. Membership is limited to business owners and managers located within the Northern Illinois and Indiana area. Day to day operations of the WBEC are administered to by an Executive Director and professional staff employed under contract with the WBEC.
The organization performs specific services and works within specific parameters intended to benefit its membership. Such services and parameters include the following:
- Education of Membership: Seminars and workgroup opportunities in topics that include business, management, government rules and regulations, finance, banking, taxation, human resource and retirement planning.
- Lobby Efforts: Representation on behalf of members at the federal, state and local levels so as to enhance and encourage business development and limit adverse impact upon business by government and other extraneous elements.
- Business & Social Networking: Opportunities for members to meet other members in professional and relaxed atmospheres.
The WBEC and its programs are supported through paid membership dues and other remunerations as determined and directed by the Board of Directors.
